Who We Are

We are a group of Christ followers committed to a journey of transformation together toward Jesus for the glory of God. We are not perfect, but are being sanctified through Christ every day. We strive to live together in authentic community, bearing each other's burdens and sharing each other's joys. We also commit to loving people unconditionally, living for the welfare of the community of Montrose, and doing our best to live humbly, act justly, and demonstrate God's mercy for all. After all, we are truly better together.

The community of The Bridge Montrose started gathering in January of 2014 while the majority of our community was still a part of our sending church, Grace Bible Church in the Heights area of Houston. We gathered with a desire to glorify God, grow together in Christ, and seek to plant the Gospel in the Montrose neighborhood of Houston and its surrounding area. As time went on, we continued to grow in our understanding of our church and our community. We found ourselves gathering around a unity of our faith in Jesus Christ and our common desire to live out His Great Commission of making disciples of all nations; from the everyday spaces of our living rooms and offices, to the ends of the earth. We committed to live as a family as well as live deployed to the Gospel mission in our everyday lives. We officially launched our Sunday worship gatherings and became an autonomous church in September of 2014. During the COVID 19 in 2020, we saw naturally how we transitioned into gathering in House Churches due to restrictions on large gathers. After thoughtful prayer and discernment, The Bridge choose to continue to exist as a network of House Churches all over the city of Houston. In January of 2021, we changed our name to The Bridge HTX to better reflect our House Churches as Gospel outposts throughout the city.
